Privacy Policy

Job Hunter ("we", "us") is a job-matching and CV (resume) tailoring tool. This page explains what we collect, how we store it, who can see it, and how to have it deleted, in plain language. This policy was written by the Job Hunter team, not a lawyer, and it has not yet had formal legal review. It describes our actual practices accurately, but it is not a substitute for legal advice about your specific rights.

1. What we collect

• Account and email data: the email address you sign up with, and login credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• CV (resume) content: the structured CV data, skills/keyword profile, and writing-voice profile you provide during onboarding, used to generate tailored CVs and cover letters (including Arabic-language CVs, if you use that feature).
• Job application activity: jobs you have been matched to, fit and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) scores, tailored CV and cover letter content generated for each job, and your application history (applied dates, status, and any outcome notes you add).
• Billing metadata: your subscription plan and a reference ID from our payment provider (Stripe or Ziina). We do not store your card number, our payment providers process and store that directly, we only ever see a customer/subscription reference ID.
• Email alert preference: if you opt in to daily job-alert emails, the minimum score threshold you set. This is off by default.

2. How we store it

Your account info, CV profile content, job matches, and application history are stored in a Postgres database, encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Generated CV and cover letter files are stored on our servers and linked to your account, not pooled with other users' files. Data in transit between your browser and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Every record is tied to your individual account, there is no shared storage of your CV content or application history with other users.

3. Who can see it

Only you, by default. Job Hunter's data is scoped per account, other users cannot see your CV content, scores, or application history. A small number of people on the Job Hunter team can access account data only when necessary to provide support or fix a bug, and only for as long as needed to resolve it.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with recruiters, data brokers, or advertisers. The only third parties involved in handling your data are:

• Supabase, for authentication (storing your email and login session).
• Our database hosting provider, which stores the encrypted Postgres database.
• Stripe or Ziina, for payment processing, whichever you choose at checkout, they never share your card details with us.
• Our email-sending provider, only if you opt in to job-alert emails, solely to deliver those emails.

4. UAE PDPL and EU GDPR, in plain language

Job Hunter is built for users in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and the EU (European Union), so this section speaks to both the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Both give you broadly similar rights: to know what we hold about you, to correct it, to ask for a copy of it, and to have it deleted. We honor those rights for every user, regardless of where you are, rather than offering a reduced version outside one jurisdiction. This section is a plain-language summary, not a legal certification of compliance with either law.

5. Your rights

• Access: ask us what data we hold about you.
• Correction: update your CV content, preferences, or email at any time from within the app.
• Deletion: request deletion of your account. Our database is built so that deleting your account removes your CV profiles, job matches, tailored CVs, cover letters, and application history together, no orphaned records are left behind. There is no self-serve delete button in the app yet, so email privacy@jobhunter.app and we will action the request.

See our Cookie Notice for the short version: no cookies today beyond an auth-only sign-in session, no ad tracking.

7. Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
